Assessment of Disabled Child Health Council Reports

Abstract
Objective: In this study, it is aimed to identify psychopathology in children and adolescents who apply to health council. Material and Methods: Chart reviews of 0-18 aged 1112 children and adolescents who applied to health council of our Hospital between September 2011 and September 2012 were analysed retrospectively. Results: Of the 1112 cases evaluated, 32,2 % (358) were female and 67,8 % (754) were male. The mean age was 8,55±4,1. 68.6 % (763) of the cases were in the range of 6- 18 years of age, 31.4 % (349) of the cases were in the range of 0-6 years of age. The most common application reasons were asking for special education reports (81,8 %), homecare-payment (7,1 %) and salary (5,2 %). The most common diagnoses were developmental delay (61,1 %) and pervasive developmental disorders (15 %) in the range of 0- 6 years of age, and mental retardation (61,9 %), learning disorders (2,8 %) in the range of 6-18 years of age. Conclusion: Data obtained from these commissions would shed light over the approach to these cases in child psychiatry practice and also would contribute regulations for the disabled.
