Abstract
Terra firma-forme dermatosis (TFFD), which ischaracterized by dirt like Brown, velvetiform,hyperpigmented plaques, is an asymptomaticand idiopathic keratinization disorder. The causeis not exactly known, but the treatment anddiagnosis is easy. Development of this dermatosisis not associated with hygiene. This diseaseis more common seen in children than inadults. Lesions are most commonly seen in theneck region, but can be any part of the body.The most important feature of the disease isthat the lesions cannot be removed by washingwith soap and water, while they can easily beremoved with gentle alcohol swabbing. AlthoughTerra firma-forme dermatosis was first describedmore than 27 years ago and is thought tobe not uncommon in clinical practice and thereare few publications about this condition. Inthis article, we presented the case of a 16 yearsold child patient clinically diagnosed with terrafirma-form dermatosis in the light of current literature.
