Abstract
The purpose of this research is to develop a new model (WPR model) on Standard Turkish Keyboard instruction, and bring a different pers-pective to traditional teaching methods. In addition to this idea, the ef-fects of WPR model on students academic success and learning per-manence is examined an experimental study and tested the appicability of this model. In this study, pre-test and post-test experimental and cont-rol group research design model used to determine the effects of WPR model on students academic success and learning permanence. Within the framework of a research model, the experimental and control gro-ups are formed, and taking into account the neutrality rule for the reali-zation of research. The experimental group students participated WPR model applied class, the control group students participated traditional keyboard teaching class in a semester. Measurements were made be-fore and after teaching in control and experimental groups. All statistical analyzes were based on the level of 0.05.Results of this research show that the experimental group students which are learning keyboarding with WPR model is more succesfull than control group students which are learning keyboarding with traditional keyboart teaching. It is evalua-ted that WPR Model is feasible and effective training model for keybo-arding in the light of research findings. And, some suggections made for educators in the literature on adoption and implementation of a common approach to the teaching keyboard taking in account the possibilities of modern education.
