Seasonal Dynamics of Cladocera species in Keçi Lake (Bolu)

Abstract
In order to determine some physico-chemical parameters (temperature, pH, electrical conductivity and dissolved oxygen) and the Cladocera fauna of Keçi Lake (Bolu) that is located at in the Western Black Sea Region where the samples were collected in seasonally intervals July 2011-April 2012 from three. Cladocera samples were collected horizontally and vertically by Hensen plankton net with a mesh size of 55 μm. Specimens obtained were than preserved in 4% formalin. As a result of the study, 9 taxa belonging to Cladocera were determined. All of the identified species are new records for Keçi Lake. Looking at the seasonal distribution of Cladocera species, diversity and abundance were at the highest level at summer season. While among of identified species, Chydorus sphaericus ve Ceriodaphnia quadrangula are found in all season, Alona quadrangularis, Bosmina longirostris, Disparalona rostrata, Graptoleberis testudinaria and Scapholeberis mucronata found only one season.
