Abstract
A practice trail was conducted on ballads form where Propp’s method, which allows form analysis to be tested on various kinds of folklore and realises proves of functions in fables which are crucial kinds of folklore, being applied on ten Erzurum ballads. An evulation was tried to be made about the common form and the character of melody sung in Kerem ayağı by defining the distribution of the melody forms and melodies, repeated in ballads.
