Abstract
The aim of this research is to identify and evaluate attitudes of Turkish teacher candidates towards the aesthetic object and their levels of appreciation. The method of the study is mixed design that it includes qualitative and quantitative approaches together. Scanning technique at the quantitative approach and phenomenology technique at the qualitative approach were used. The sample of study consisted of 74 students who study in the Department of Turkish Education at the Kâzım Karabekir Education Faculty. The quantitative data of study were used with “The Survey of aesthetic appreciation” prepared by the researchers and the qualitative data of the study were obtained from “The Form of aesthetic evaluation.” Opinions Related to Cooperative Working that it is consisted of three open-ended questions and it interrogates opinions of teacher candidates related to cooperative working. As a result of the study, it was understood that Turkish teacher candidates adopt a philosophical-aesthetic attitude related to work of art; they like Turkish classical and modern painting art more than Western classical and modern painting art.
