Abstract
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) can be defined as the extent to which businesses meet the economic, legal, ethical, and discretionary responsibilities imposed on them by their stakeholders. CSR has become a very important issue for businesses because it affects financial performance positively and increases satisfaction of stakeholders. In this context, the aim of this study is to explain corporate social responsibility that is very important for businesses in a theoretical way and to examine how businesses that are operating in Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone perceive corporate social responsibility. In this study, which purposes of the businesses (legal, economic, ethics, discretionary) in the sample were functioned is tried to be determined. According to the results of the analysis, managers think that CSR occurs with its four dimensions in their businesses. Legal responsibility has the highest mean among these dimensions. It is thought that, this study constitutes a basis for studies that will be done in the future by determining the awareness of businesses in Kayseri about CSR and which dimension is considered important.
