Abstract
Ibn Hamdis is one of the outstanding poets of Andalus. He was born in the Island of Sicily and from his early ages interested in poetry. When the island was invaded by the Normans, he moved to Andalusia and resumed his literary life there. Rich nature, internal and external struggles of Andalusia, and homesickness constantly encouraged the poet to write his poems and all of these factors have been effective in his poems. His diwan is formed by poems regarding more descriptions, praises, elegies and homesickness.
