Abstract
This research was conducted to investigate elementary school teachers’ attitudes towards constructivism. This study was carried out in descriptive study model. A sequental explanatory mixed method research design was utilized. The population of this study included 2226 elementary school teachers serving at 6-8 grade levels in Denizli. Among all, 402 teachers were sampled in the study. Interviews were conducted with ten voluntary teachers to obtain qualitative data. The quantitative data were collected by personal information form and the scale of attitudes towards constructivism. T-Test, ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis-H ve Mann Whitney-U test were used comparison of epistemological beliefs as the variables of the participants gender, teaching experience, teaching subject and educational background in quantitative data. In qualitative data, a semi-structured form was developed, and the descriptive analysis was utilized in order to investigate the views of teachers.
