An Analysis of Postgraduate Research Projects on Academics in Turkey about Mobbing

The mobbing studies about the academics are essential for the development of our country. These studies loom large for presenting the mobbing cases in the universities to analyse the reasons, to find out which type of behaviours are exposed how often and who encounters these cases more in the light of the demographic studies, and to offer possible solutions to prevent them. This particular study aims to analyse the postgraduate research projects about mobbing in the academies. 16 master’s and doctoral theses are listed through searching YÖK (The Council of Higher Education) database, which are examined and tabulated in terms of method, population and sample, and results by using a document analysis method. Consequently, this study reveals that these postgraduate research projects lack to sufficiently analyse and demonstrate the mobbing cases and there is a need for further studies in the field. Since the research projects conducted by YÖK are considered, it is required to carry more extensive and result-oriented studies on mobbing in the universities.
