We see and realize how we acted against Idris-i Bitlisî in a prejudiced way and how we curse on him, as the results of ongoing researches about Idris-i Bitlisî and as his works have become translated. In fact, Idris-i Bitlisî deserves to be praised, not to be defamed. Idris-i Bitlisî was a commander, a poet, a historian, a voyager and a leader in his life time. Mevlânâ Idris wrote a piece of work titled Black Death Disease and Ways of Prevention in the16th century, while Europe was struggling with the Black Death outbreak in. He has also written another piece of work consisted of two volumes and named Animals Encyclopedia and this work still continues to enlighten studies in this field of science even in our day. He deserves all of the credit due to the works he has written and the contributions he has made for this nation. The translation of his works to up to date Turkish will help us to understand him better and to become aware of the information.
