The Women s Movement in the Republic of Turkey

A social changing process exists in the world we live by the processes connecting to one another and interacting. The effects of social changes which were formerly in small scales and affecting only the place where it aroused now is being a powerful message by the multiple refference of the media so that people both experience the process of socialisation and send their messages rapidly to the world and at the same time get messages from the world without any loss of energy. The varying and increasing continuity of the change we handle, has put the women s movement in the world to an important condition in Turkish republic as well. From the time of the Ottoman empire to today, Kemalist Modernisation process and especially the islamic women movement arousing at universities in 1980 s must be thought together with the mentioning of rights and demands. On this basis, in this work generally woman as a special distinctive title was evaluated in Turkey with the social movements in the world and the conceptual framework of the change.
