Abstract
This study, where qualitative research method was used, was conducted with the intent to determine how geography teacher candidates perceive the United Nations’ contribution to world peace. Participants were chosen using apurposive sampling technique. The data were gathered through semistructured interviews. The data that were accumulated at the end of the study were analyzed using descriptive method.It was established after the study that most of the participants think the UN permanent member states have a negative influence on improving peace around the world, these states look after their own benefits and that they did not adopt peacemaking as a major focus and goal.
