Abstract
Life conditions which are becoming more difficult day by day due to urbanisation and the stress they create have led people to wish to spend some of their time resting; thus, the demand for recreation areas around cities has increased and led them to vary. This situation caused recreation activities to focus on natural areas. One of these natural areas are in Küre, a town in Kastamonu. With its unspoiled natural texture and its worth-seeing geomorphological landscape, it is one of the places which can be benefited from for tourism purposes.According to our detections, both Ersizlerdere Canyon and Karacehnnemboğazı Canyon are good examples that reflect the fluvial corruption caused by severe tectonism of the area. With its water sources, Küre Stream-which enables white water tourism-, site conditions which are suitable for various outdoor sports, natural views and rich cultural heritage, this area is one of the rare places that can be an alternative tourism center of Turkey. From this aspect, in order to improve tourism activities in the area, it needs promotion and to be supported by investments.
