    Tourism Opportunities That May Be Developed with Geographical Characteristics of Paşakonağı Highland and its Surroundings

  • Abstract
    Highlands are the most preferred locations for various economic activities particularly livestock at certain seasons for Anatolian people. Today, in addition to these classical functions highlands are visited for the purpose of tourism and recreation and it increases interest for highlands. With such usage highlands function as a tourist resort and recreation area so longer and accordingly mainly highland tourism and other types of tourism develop.Because highland tourism activities are highly appreciated in recent years in our country city of Giresun in the Eastern Black Sea region within the scope of our research is equipped with tourism potential that may be utilized. In Giresun city there are 3 highland tourism centers and many highlands are suitable for development of highland tourism. In this context, Paşakonağı highland located in Kovanlık county of Bulancak town has tourism assets including in particular natural beauty and unique charm of highland culture of Black Sea region. In this environment, there are suitable conditions for many types of tourism especially highland tourism and cultural tourism, eco-tourism, mountain tourism, winter tourism, health tourism. Paşakonağı highland attracts more and more attention day by day and hosts a growing number of visitors. Highland develops with determinant steps towards becoming a tourist center and it may be one of the most attractive highlands of Giresun city provided that essential facilities are ensured and it is planned with the concept of sustainable tourism understanding.
