Abstract
Curriculums of education system and textbooks which are prepared in accordance with curriculum philosophy reflect the viewpoint of government about related subject during teaching of a phenomenon. In other words, phenomena in the curriculum and the textbook of a lesson can be thought as a projection of governments, what the governments want their citizens to know about this phenomenon. In this context, it is going to be a beneficial approach to research curriculums and textbooks when an answer is searched for any questions as to teaching of a phenomenon. When curriculums of secondary education and textbooks are analyzed about teaching of the phenomenon of migration, it is seen that this fact is more strongly associated with science of geography as it occurs at a place, has environmental effects and it is about population. Therefore, in this study it is aimed to research how the phenomenon of migration is addressed in textbooks which are prepared based on geography lesson curriculum. Document analysis was used in data collection process of this study based on descriptive research. Data were analyzed by regarding migration concept map prepared by researchers as a criterion. The results of the study revealed that aspect of learning outcome of geography lesson curriculum and aspect of content of textbooks are insufficient as to teaching of the phenomenon of migration. Solutions intended curriculum and the content of textbook of geography lesson have been proposed to be able to provide the teaching of the phenomenon of migration with all aspects.
