  • Abstract
    In this study, it is aimed to determine the map skill levels of secondary school students. The study was handled in the context of the gender, achievement score of students who were thought to affect the map skill levels of the students, whether they made draft map samples in the lessons, the frequency of using instructional technologies and spheres in the lessons, and the district variables that the schools were connected to. The research is a descriptive study in the screening model, one of the quantitative research methods. The sample of the study consists of 238 secondary school (11th grade) students studying in schools in the central districts of Şanlıurfa City, Haliliye, Karaköprü and Eyyübiye. In the research, an achievement test was developed to determine students map skill levels by researchers. T-Test, One-Way Variance Analysis, Simple Linear Regression and Chi-Square Analysis were used to analyze the data collected. As a result of the study, it was determined that the secondary school students map skills were at a medium level, and the frequency of using technology and globe in the geography lesson and mathematics achievement score made a significant difference on the map skills levels. In addition, it was determined that the district in which the school where the students are studying makes a significant difference on the map skill levels of the students and this significant difference is in favor of the students studying in the schools of Karaköprü district.
