    Prediction of Temperature on Street Type Led Armature Heat Sink Using FEM and ANN

  • Abstract
    In this study, a thermal analysis was performed in order to find the maximum temperature in the street type led armature. To perform this analysis, Transient Thermal module of ANSYS which is software based on finite element method (FEM) was used. When the CAD model used for finite element model was created, the fin length and the fin width were modelled parametrically. Accordingly there are two input parameters. After the finite element model was created, the analysis took 6000 seconds. An artificial neural network model whichcan take place of the finite element model was created in order to find the maximum temperature in the street type led armature in shorter time. Therefore, 27 thermal analyses were performed, the input parameters and the results belonged to these 27 thermal analyses were used in order to create the artificial neural network model. The results of the artificial neural network model and the finite element model are so close each other. After the studies were completed, it was observed that it takes approximately one second to find the maximum temperature in the armature by using the artificial neural network model while it takes 6000 seconds with the finite element model.
