Abstract
Dye sensitized solar cells are among the most promising solar energy conversion devices of new generation. A dye sensitized solar cell comprises of many important components which include the semiconductor electrode, electrolyte, sensitizer and counter electrode. The efficiency of the solar cell depends on the optimisation of each compenents. In this study, the working principle, componenets of dye sensitized solar cells and some recent advances, which include the finding alternative materials and configurations to improve the performance of them, are reviewed.
