Abstract
Tekirdağ state roads constituting an important corridor between Europe and Anatolia play an active role on freight transportation. Because the number of heavy good vehicles travelling on these roads is more than national average and legal violation of load limits, severe damages occur on these roads. In this study, the economic life of damaged roads is investigated by evaluating the statistical data acquired from the General Directorate of Turkish Highways. Consequently, it is demonstrated that the national economy is affected adversely due to such damages stem from inadequate periodical check.
