Abstract
Groundwater is not an infinite source and needs planning for sustainable usage. Part of the central province of Edirne, the surrounding districts all use groundwater for drinking and irrigation purposes. In this study, logs of wells drilled in Miocene aged unconfined aquifer and granites at the north, are compiled. According to data obtained from these logs, database of the study area for static water level, dynamic water level, specific groundwater yield, electrical conductivity and pH is constructed. Later, this database and geographical information systems (GIS) software is connected in GIS environment and thematic maps of the study area for static water level, dynamic water level, specific groundwater yield, electrical conductivity and pH is drawn. Current status of groundwater usage for irrigation and human consumption is assessed through these maps in terms of geology of the study area.
