Abstract
This study was addressed to state the relationships between site productivity of Scots pine and vegetation distribution and plant diversity in the Türkmen Mountain. In this study, the data taken from 33 sample plots including woody and herbaceous vegetation and site index values of Scots pine were prepared to evaluate. Two-way indicator analysis (TWINSPAN) was performed to divide vegetation into subgroups. Two subgroups were provided after performing TWINSPAN. Besides detrended correspondance analysis (DCA) was applied to vegetation matrix in order to determine the concordance of the vegetation subgroups with DCA results and define the axes values of sample plots. Next, correlation analysis was applied between site index values of Scots pine and axes values of DCA and, it was found that there was a significant positive relation between site index values and the first axes of DCA. Besides, plant diversity of sample plots was determined by using Shannon-Wiener diversity index. Site index values were related to plant diversity values obtained by using Shannon-Wiener diversity index and it was also found a significant positive relation between them. Obtained findings from the study showed that vegetation distribution and plant diversity were probably important indicators for productivity of Scots pine.
