Abstract
This study aims to determine the environmental awareness and sensitivity levels of Landscape Architecture, Environmental Engineering and Town and Regional Planning undergraduate students at the universities in Ankara. A total of 213 students, who have enrolled in first and fourth grades of those programs, were surveyed by a questionnaire form. Research findings show that; environmental awareness and sensitivity levels were independent from students’ grades and although they had basic knowledge on environmental problems and resource protection, they haven’t developed enough environmentally responsible attitudes and behaviors. To conclude, the need for revision of the environmental education courses in the disciplines mentioned above in order to provide students with environmentally responsible attitudes and behaviors and the need for national strategies and policies on environmental education in higher education is emphasized.
