Investigations on avifauna of Yedigöller and Yeşilöz Wildlife Reserves

Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine bird species of Yedigoller and Yesiloz Wildlife Reserves. The study area covers 50.950 ha. It was subdivided to 36 plots (4 x 4 km). Counting and observation of birds were done in the center point of all these plots. A total of 132 species belonging to 45 families of 19 orders were identified. 79 of these (%59,85) birds species were classified as Passeriformes. 36 bird species breed in the region. According to red list criteria of IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Sitta krueperi Pelzeln, 1863 observed in the study area was categorized as near threatened (NT). In addition, according to the results, all species of Picidae family that have seen in Turkey, were determined to live in the study area.
