Abstract
Although Leader Member Exchange (LMX) has been frequently investigated since it was introduced in 1970s, it has been argued that scales employed do not account for the psychometric prerequisites and that the concept does not have a well defined theoretical basis (Vecchio and Gobdel, 1984). It can be claimed that this lack of efficiency and clarity continued to remain until the theoretical frame developed by Dienesch and Liden (1986) and the scale introduced by Liden and Maslyn (1998) based on that frame. Most of the studies conducted afterwards were designed upon this frame, indicating that some agreement has been reached. In this study, the scale developed by Liden and Maslyn (1998) has been tested for its validity and reliability in Turkish. It was found that the scale showed the scale showed high validity and reliability in the end of the measurements. Considering the scarcity of LMX-based studies conducted in Turkey, this study can contribute to future empirical research.
