  • Abstract
This study aims to show how to calculate the critical path and completion time of a real construction project when there exists fuzzy times and aims to compare clarifications methods of α-cut and centroid method concerning this construction problem. In this study, durations related to the activities are specified as triangular fuzzy numbers instead of crisp numbers. Project network diagram depicted with Graphviz software after specifying precedence relationships. For the purpose of finding project completing duration, a network type mathematical programming model is developed with AMPL algebraic modeling language. To find critical path and duration, it is utilized from α-cut method for different α levels and centroid method which is one of the most widely used clarification method for fuzzy numbers in the literature. Otherwise with Yager’s ordering method, verification of critical duration is done. It is not possible to know exactly durations of activities which depend on human. Thus, using fuzzy CPM method instead of classical CPM which commonly used in the literature and using fuzzy numbers instead of crisp numbers reveal the importance of this study. Furthermore analyzing a real construction project composed originality of the study.
