Behavioral Agricultural Geography in Balıkesir Central District

Agriculture is one of the most common and important economic activities. Turkey is an important country in terms of agricultural activities. Like every economic activity, the agricultural sector also has a number of problems. These problems have increased recently. In this study, agricultural problems are discussed from the behavioral point of view in central districts of Balıkesir. The study was carried out with random sampling method and 93 district headmen were interviewed. Semi-structured interview method was used in interviews and Miles and Huberman method were used to analyze the results. As a result, there are some problems of agricultural activities in the central district of Balıkesir. Low input costs despite the high input costs make agricultural owners difficult. Due to the high tax rate of the fuel oil and the continuous increase in fuel prices, the farmers have difficulty in reaching the machine power they need. Due to fertilizer and feed prices, agricultural enterprises can not get enough yield. The harvested product, milk and other animal products do not bring sufficient profit to cause clogging of the economic wheel.
