Effects of Political Conflicts and Terrorism on Tourism Industry: The Case of Turkey 2010-2017

Abstract
Terrorist groups are a major threat to people s lives by operating in many parts of the world. Terrorist activities aiming at social order and peace, political, economic, social, cultural, etc. in the countries where they operate. many problems arise in the fields. According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), in 2016, the tourism sector generated 1 trillion, 220 billion $ in revenue, with the participation of 1 billion 235 million people worldwide. Tourism, which has become an important economic income and advertising medium for the countries, is one of the sectors that suffer the most from terrorist activities because of this feature. Made between the years 2010-2017 political conflict and terror in this study by examining some of the major events that occurred in the tourism sector in Turkey has tried to determine the effects of the official statistical data. It has been determined that the severity and repercussions of the events included in the review have significant negative effects on the tourism sector. These adverse effects are also supported by the secondary data obtained by literature review.
