Abstract
The flexible mechanism of lateral transshipment approaches provide high service levels with low inventory levels by sharing stock among the inventory points at the same stage of supply chain. In this study, lateral transshipment in supply chain inventory management has been modeled as multi-objective problem to examine the effect on different conflicting goals such as cost and customer service level. These objectives were analyzed with different cost parameters in a supply chain model containing a supplier and n retailers by performing a lateral transshipment policy proposed in the literatüre by modifying it. Pareto optimum solutions were analyzed by using multi-objective genetic algorithm to decide when and how much quantity should be shared and the best base stock values simultaneously.
