Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effects of higher doses of biological fungicide Biobac wp (including Bacillus subtilis strain Y1336) and synthetic chemical Luna Experience SC 400 (including the active ingredients of Floupyram 200 g/l + Tebuconazole 200 g/l) on the pepper pollens. It was assumed that the negative effects of chemicals on the pollens may cause reductions in the yield and quality. The experiments were conducted in the greenhouse located in Kumluca, Antalya. Two different doses of Luna Experience SC 400 were tested in the experiments: i) 30 ml / 100 L water “farmer condition”; and ii) 60 ml / 100 L water “higher dose”. The biological fungicide Biobac wp, which is generally used against powdery mildew in peppers, was tested at the dose of 125 gr / 100 L water as “farmer condition”. According to the results obtained, it was monitored that increase in the dosages of chemicals caused a considerable decline in the pollen viability percentage, pollen germination percentage, and pollen amounts; and the lowest results were obtained from the highest doses.
