Abstract
This research was carried out to determine the effects of different thermal waters on germination and different seedling growth characteristics of bean cultivars in. The seeds of three beans varieties (Burgan, Şeker and Sarıkız) and thermal water samples from the thermal springs of Sandıklı (Afyonkarahisar), Gazlıgöl (Afyonkarahisar), Karahayıt (Denizli), Pamukkale (Denizli), Ilgın (Konya), Simav (Kütahya) and Buharkent (Aydın) were used as material in the study. Germination tests were carried out the between-paper (BP) method in laboratory conditions. Experiments were established with 3 replications according to the randomized factorial design. According to the results of variance analysis, cultivar x application interaction was found significant in all characteristics. The highest germination rate (93.33%), germination power (94.44%) and vigor index (672) were determined in control plots while the shortest germination time was (2.07 days) in control plots, shoot length (5.70 cm) and fresh seedling weight were (2.43 g) in Karahayıt spring, root length (7.07 cm) and dry seedling weight (0.602 g) were detected in the control plots.
