  • Abstract
The objective of the study is to determine the effect of humic acid, which is applied to reduce plant uptake on cadmium accumulated zones, over uptake of some nutrients. An experiment was conducted according to a random block design, in a greenhouse with four doses of humic acid (0, 4, 8, 12 L da^-1), three doses of cadmium sulphate as the Cd source (0, 1.5, 3 mg kg^-1) and three replicates. Plants were fertilized with Hoagland s Nutrient Solution and the experiment was completed when the control plants reached harvest maturity. Phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, calcium, sulphur, iron, manganese, nickel, chrome, boron, zinc, molybdenum, copper and cadmium concentrations were determined in plant samples after harvesting. The results were subjected to analysis of variance according to the randomized blocks experiment design using the MINITAB 17.0 statistical package program. In terms of statistics, differences which are significant according to the results of variance analysis among the subjects were compared with the LSD test. According to the results, humic acid and cadmium treatments did not display any statistical significance with regard to potassium, iron, chrome and boron content of plant (P 0.05). Cadmium application created a statistically significant difference (P 0.01) in calcium and manganese content of plant. The interaction of humic acid and cadmium statistically affected (P 0.01) phosphorus, sulphur and magnesium content of plant. Humic acid created a statistically significant difference (P 0.05) in copper content of plant. Cadmium application created a statistically significant difference (P 0.05) in molybdenum content of plant. The interaction of humic acid and cadmium statistically affected (P 0.05) nickel, zinc and cadmium content of plant.
