Abstract
The resudial effects of different zeolite doses and water levels on yield and quality of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharat. Sturt. var. BATEM Tatlı) were evaluated under arid conditions in Karapınar, Konya, Turkey. The experiment was conducted in a split-plot design with three replications. The main plots were formed of zeolite doses (Z_0, Z_3, Z_6, Z_9 and Z_12 t da^-1) while the sub plots were formed of water stress (_I50: 0.50, I_75: 0.75 and I_100:1.00). The results showed that in each doses of zeolite with changes in the rate of irrigation efficiency affected the yield and yield components. Water use efficiency was affected by zeolite and irrigation treatments. The highest yield, 629 kg da^-1, was obtained from Z_9-I_100 application. In the experimental years, irrigation water amount of the same treatment was determined as 442 mm. Also, zeolite treatments affected the content of some quality parameters such as weight of corn cobs, harvest moisture, hectoliter amounts and some nutrient contents of grains.
