Experimental Investigation of the Springback Amount of Copper Sheet Plates Forming By “V” Bending Method

Abstract
One of the problems encountered in the shaping of sheet metal is springback. In order to ensure that the parts to be released from the molds are within the desired tolerance limits, it is important to determine the springback of the bended sheet plates. In this working, the springback of the coppersheet plates have been tested in V bending molds experimentally. To adjust springback we designed V bending molds and we have used copper sheets for material. Copper sheet plates were used as test material. Samples with thicknesses of 1 and 2 mm were tested at 60, 90 and 120 degrees mold angles and different bending radius values of 2 mm and 4 mm for each angle The results of the experiments have been compared according to the experiments. As a result of the experiments, the springback was observed in the copper sheet. It was seen that the mold angle increased as the spring back decreased. It was observed that the with the springback is decreased and with the increasing bending radius the springback is increased.
