Abstract
After the global crisis in 2008, a serious criticism of neo-liberalism was anticipated, but contrary to expectations, more neo-liberalizm emerged as the solution to problems that came with the global crisis. It was quite remarkable that forcing the member states of the European Union, which was seriously affected by the 2008 crisis, to apply neo-liberal policies and in this respect, expecting a remedy for the crisis of neo-liberalism by labour market flexibility. This process is also important in the sense that it shows how neo-liberalism influenced the European Union. The aim of this study is to reveal how neo-liberalism affects the European Union by analyzing labour markets in Southern Europe which was affected most adversely by the global financial crisis.
