Abstract
Recently, costs arisen from energy consumption are the one of the most important inputs of industrial production, and oil prices are the main indicators with respect to these costs. For this reason, the relationship between oil prices and macroeconomic variables has been examined in many studies. The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between oil prices and employment for G7 countries each are net oil importers by panel data analysis. In this context, cointegration and causality relation between oil prices and employment rate has been detected by using the data of crude oil prices and employment between the years of 1986-2014 for G7 countries.
