Abstract
In the past, most of the public relations practices has been done to manipulate, direct, and persuade audiences. But nowadays public relations practices aim to develop dialog with audiences, rather than manipulating, directing or persuading them. In this sense, it can be said that in its process of development the public relations discipline had a change of understanding. This study moved from the idea of world views adopted by organizations is one of the reasons why public relations discipline had a change of understanding. Within this scope, in our study which built upon literature review, firstly organizational culture is discussed which is the most important factor that effects formation of organizational world views, then, the notion of world view, world views related to public relation discipline and their characteristics researched. Finally, at which points asymmetric and symmetric world views effects public relations practices of organizations is tried to be revealed.
