A QUANTITATIVE - QUALITATIVE STUDY OF “VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN” AND “FEMICIDE” CASES IN İSTANBUL

This study, in 39 districts of Istanbul, by means of presenting with statistical data of “violence against women” and “femicide” qualitative evaluations were made for violence and murder. Public Order Division of İstanbul Police Directorate was benefited from the 2017-2018 data about violence against women - femicide, by doing qualitative evaluation of real life cases, it was aimed that the importance of the subject is to be observed more clearly by the society. In the study, it was emphasized that the police measures could have a limited impact on women s violence and these problems could be overcome by common measures of all institutions. In addition, the importance of increasing the research on social violence, has been mentioned the necessity of the whole society to act with a sense of responsibility against the phenomenon of violence.
