Abstract
This study, which focuses on the wages of Veliefendi Calico Factory’s workers between 1848-1876, aims to contribute to the industrial wages, which are missing part in the Ottoman wage history. The study attempted to create a wage series using the wage ledgers recorded for the workers in the factory during the period in question. The wage series obtained are compared with those previously produced in the agricultural and construction sectors. According to the findings, while the reel daily wages of the workers decreased, monthly wages increased at the cost of more efforts of the workers. This increase was also lower than real wage increases in both agriculture and construction workers.
