Abstract
Different ways of doing business, communication styles and attitudes of individuals whose personalities have been formed at different times in history, should be handled together. The managers should also understand the identity of each generation. In this study, using the quantitative method, it is aimed to determine the general cynicism levels and the effect of these levels on the organizational cynicism in the context of personality characteristics of the four generations working in today’s businesses. In order to determine whether the general cynicism levels of the generations have an impact on organizational cynicism and its dimensions, the hypotheses proposed in the research were tested with the linear regression model. As a result of the research, a statistically significant difference was found between the generations of X - Y, X - Z and Z - Baby boomer. In general cynicism and organizational cynicism scale, the generation with the highest level of cynicism is the Z generation, whereas the generation with the lowest cynicism level in the general cynicism scale is the generation Baby boomer. Additionally, it was found that the generation with the lowest cynic level in the organizational cynicism scale is the generation X.
