Abstract
Banditry movements, which are based on a number of reasons such as the weakening of political power, economic difficulties, and the impoverishment of the people, have been one of the most important problems of states throughout history. Banditry movements, which emerged in the Ottoman Empire from the second half of the XVI. century, affected the geography of Rumelia, including the Çorlu county, towards the end of the XVIII. century. The Çorlu part of the banditry movements starting from the Kırcaali Mountains and spreading towards the interior is quite important. Since Çorlu has a very strategic importance due to its proximity to the capital on the one hand, and to Tekfurdağı Port, one of the capital s food distribution points. In this study, which is based on a from general to specific narrative model, after seeking answers to the questions of what is a bandit and who is qualified as bandit; it has been tried to focus on the banditry movements that took place in Çorlu and the measures taken by the state against these movements and the struggles they carried out.
