Abstract
In the 21st century, Turkey s political and diplomatic relations with African countries have gained incredible vibrancy. On the level of political relations, Turkey declared 2005 as ‘the year of Africa,’ and was declared a ‘strategic partner’ of the continent by the African Union in 2008 created a positive atmosphere in bilateral relations. Indeed, the year 2008 was an important start not only politically but also on the level of diplomatic relations. While the number of Turkish embassies in the continent was 12 by 2008, this number rose to 43 by April 2021 and work is also being carried out to open the Turkish embassy in Guinea-Bissau and plan to open embassies for the remaining ten countries in Africa. Therefore, this article mainly discusses Turkey s political and diplomatic relations with 54 countries of the African continent.
