Abstract
The aim of this study is to adapt Family Involvement Questionnaire (FIQ), which was developed by Perry, Fantuzzo Munis (1997, 2002) and Fantuzzo, Tighe, Childs, (2000) to Turkish culture and conduct the reliability and validity analyses. The data were collected from mothers of 442 children with an age average of 60.38 (SD=9.98) who are living in İstanbul, Turkey. Firstly, the FIQ was adapted to Turkish language and culture. The validity of the scale was measured with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and the results showed that the scale has a three-factor structure as in the original version. Results showed that the scale has discriminant validity. As a result of the analyses, three subscales were found: Home-School Based Involvement (α= 0.88), Home-Based Involvement (α= 0.77), and School-Based Involvement (α= 0.84). As a result, the FIQ is a valid, reliable and appropriate for Turkish parents.
