  • Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the main course for Theology Faculty students to take courses in summer school that is becoming increasingly common in our universities and their views on this practice. In the study, a quantitative screening model was used and the data were subjected to descriptive and relational analysis. It has been determined that the main courses for students to take courses in summer school are to reduce the intensity of courses in the final year and pass the courses that they failed before. The results also have showed that they have difficulty to find motivation during the summer school as much as in fall and spring semester, and they are bored with taking lessons in summer, and they are partly confused at the point of efficiency of summer school. It has also been found that in summer school students have a partial expectation for passing courses easily and getting higher marks easily, and this expectancy is significantly higher in male students than in female students. As a result, it is evaluated that continuing the summer school was a useful application for the students, but it is necessary to apply a method so as to make students more active in order to increase summer school efficiency and student motivation.
