Abstract
There are different views on how grammar should be taught in mother tongue education. The more widely accepted view nowadays is that the main goal of grammar teaching is to contribute to effective use of language skills by students. One of the various educational approaches, methods and techniques used for this purpose is teaching based on Multiple Intelligences Theory. In this study, it is aimed to determine by literature search that how grammar teaching based on Multiple Intelligences Theory is put into practice and to make suggestions on how such teachingcan be carried out. The Multiple Intelligences is a theory that suggests that intelligence consists of different types, that these intelligence types can be developed with right teaching practices. It also suggests that teaching practices considering different intelligence types ensure better learning for students with different intelligence traits. As in many subjects It is possible to find lesson plans and activity examples in the literature about grammar teaching. Examples about the grammar teaching of Turkish as mother tongue are included in this study. A sample lesson plan has been generated with the help of these examples. The lesson plan sample, information and suggestions are thought to be useful to teachers and other stakeholders working on the field.
