Abstract
The aim of this study was to test the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the Marital Forgiveness Scale-Event, (MFS-E), developed by Fincham, Beach Davila, (2004) for use in married individuals. The sample of the study consists of 521 married individuals aged 18-64. The Turkish form of the scale was assessed using statistical analyzes in terms of factor structure, criterion validity, internal consistency, item analysis (corrected item-total correlation, lower 27% -upper 27% t test). According to the findings obtained, the scale has a 9-point strecture like the orginal one. It was also found that the common factor variance varied between .55 and .76, with the result of Kaiser Meyer Olkin being .782, in excellent and acceptable levels. Conclusion: This study reveals that the EBÖ-O has applicable psychometric properties for the Turkish sample and can be used to determine the level of forgiveness in married individuals.
