Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to compare the moral identity and altruism levels of students with giftedness and normal development. Also, the relationship between moral identity and altruistic levels of gifted students has been examined. Correlational screening model was used in the study. The study group of the study consisted a total of 445 students three hundred thirty three (%74.8) normal students and a hundred and twelve (%25.2) gifted students with convenience sampling in İzmir. Two hundred twenty students (% 49.4) are female and two hundred twenty five students (%51.6) are male in the study. Moral identity scale and altruism scale were used to collect data. When the data were tested; test of t, Pearson moment product correlation analysis and regression analysis were used. According to the results of the t test, moral identity and altruism levels of the gifted students were statistically significantly higher than normal students. Pearson correlation analysis revealed a statistical significant and positive relationship between moral identities and altruistic levels of gifted students. Regression analysis showed that the moral identities of gifted students were statistically significant predictors of altruism levels.
