Abstract
In this study, it is aimed to evaluate a 14 week long teaching practice course by practice teacher, instructor, practice classroom students and pre-service teachers. Case study method was preferred due to the evaluation of the opinions about the teaching practice course. The study was conducted with 6 of pre-service teachers attending the 4th class of Science Education Department, 1 practice teacher, 1 instructor and 4 middle school students. In order to evaluate the teaching practice process semi structured interviews were conducted. Semi structured interviews were recorded with a voice recording application. After the interviews, voice records were transcripted and coded by two researchers independently, then data were compared to each other. At the end of the coding process, consistency coefficients between coders were calculated 0.82. Obtained codes and themes were presented by tables. At the end of the study, it was found out that pre- service teachers professional commitment were developed, mentoring of the practice teacher was beneficial, the pedagogical knowledge of the pre-service teachers were improved and the materials developed by the pre-service teachers were found effective by all the participants. It has been concluded that the teaching practice process based on the active participation of practice teacher and instructor is effective in eliminating most of the problems encountered in literature. Therefore, it may be recommended for participants of a teaching practice course to organize meetings, where they share their expectations and opinions.
