Abstract
In this study, the relationship between teaching satisfaction and job performance was analyzed regarding to the teachers’ views. The research data were collected by the “Teaching Satisfaction Scale” and the “Individual Job Performance Scale”. The research data were collected with the voluntary participation of teachers working in the public secondary schools in Yenimahalle, Çankaya, Sincan and Etimesgut districts of Ankara. In this context, totally 516 teachers were consulted during the spring semester of 2016-2017 academic year. Data collected from the participants were analyzed by arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, Anova, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), Pearson correlation and regression analysis. The findings revealed a significant correlation between teaching satisfaction and job performance of the teachers. The results of regression analysis showed that teaching satisfaction is a significant predictor of job performance. To evaluate the findings as a whole, it was seen that the teachers had teaching satisfaction, on the other hand, this teaching satisfaction was differed according to the gender and the professional seniority of teachers, and it had an effect on the teachers’ job performance. In this study, it was determined that the job performance of the teachers also varied according to gender, professional seniority and marital status.
