  • Abstract
    In science education, associating information with daily life has an impact on student motivation and helps the student to internalize the curriculum of the course. The related literature shows that students who use scientific facts in explaining the events of daily life like science and are able to establish hypotheses. In our country, some studies have been carried out in order to relate the science knowledge of the students to daily life. However, it has been observed that these studies are usually conducted with secondary and high school students or pre-service teachers. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the case of the fourth grade students in relation to the daily life. In this study, one of the general screening models, the singular screening model was used. As a means of data collection, an application page that association with daily life and that consisting of 20 open- ended questions require a written response and science course notes were used. According to research findings, on the average of the answers given to all questions, it is seen that, the misunderstanding category has the highest percentage for both students classified as successful and unsuccessful. In addition, it was found that the lowest understanding percentage and the highest misunderstanding percentage belonged to the students studying in the village.
